HOWDY!
OrangeYouGlad is based out of Carroll Gardens. As a local business we have had the pleasure to help some of our neighbors with their visual design needs. We’re proud to help branding Brooklyn! Some of these projects (i.e: Staubitz) go back over 15 years but we are still smitten with how wonderful the designs look.
Below are some deep cuts of the smaller projects we’ve worked on in the neighborhood - but don’t forget to check out our work for The Brooklyn Navy Yard, The Brooklyn Strategist and Tech Explorers which have their own case studies.

Staubitz Market was established in 1917 by John Staubitz and has remained opened since, becoming the oldest butcher still operating in New York. In 2010 they came to us looking for a new logo, that better represented Staubitz Market’s iconic presence and history. Our interpretation included a dramatic color combination of black and gold, accentuated with fine line art, which can be seen in the new logo. We also helped envision a new awning that would help retain the old fashioned warmth of their history, conveyed through gold pinstripes and type. The impact of our work can be seen through their adoption of internal signs and graphics.

Abilene Bar in Brooklyn, otherwise known as “the blue place on the corner” by Carroll Gardens locals, are kindred spirits in terms of a love of nostalgic, whimsical, and cozy! They are also our favorite place to grab a beer after work! We worked with them to create a new logo, website, menu and overall vibe for their online presence. Our solution was to provide a high contrast color palette that juxtaposed hand carved marks, with full color imagery of dramatic critters. We created an original HTML based site and eventually set them up with a new Squarespace template.

Luna Park in Coney Island is the largest amusement park in NYC, and home to the historic landmark - The Cyclone! The history of Luna Park dates back as far as 130 years. Following their re-opening after the pandemic - OrangeYouGlad worked with Luna Park to update wayfinding signage throughout the park and create an updated park map for visitors. In addition to the in-park environmental design, we created a subway takeover campaign to attract New Yorkers back to the park and celebrate the re-opening. The campaign was a coordinated media buy across subway, bus, train. Throughout the year we also produced a variety of social assets for Luna Park’s social channels.

Marquis Studios is a unique program that brings the vibrancy of New York City’s artist community into New York City’s public schools – offering essential educational opportunities that not only expose students to the arts but also provide them with socio-emotional support. The new typographic mark is bold and celebrates the beauty in something hand-made; it serves as a window in which to feature the work of the students. The logo is paired with cut paper shapes, a new vibrant palette, and focus on a more fluid layout system. The organic illustration style exemplifies the organization’s dedication to inclusivity.

Patrick Watson of Brooklyn’s Smith and Vine approached OrangeYouGlad to come up with a custom label design for his new Straight Rye Whiskey. Watson was inspired by the timeless Brooklyn-Industry Age signage: Kentile Floors. The design commemorates a piece of Brooklyn history. Our approach focused on clean and bold structures that seamlessly integrate type, paired with fine line work to help elevate brand and product perception.

The Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club in Brooklyn is a great stop for fun, food, an occasional live music. Royal Palms hit us up, looking for help with their marketing collateral. They wanted some eye-candy graphics to help draw attention to some of their larger scale services, such as private parties, special events, and alcohol packages. We had a lot of fun creating bold illustrations that paired nicely with their logo and existing brands elements. But we’ll let the work speak for itself!

Rooftop films is an entirely unique film festival that utilizes the incredible backdrop of New York City in the Summer to produce it’s summer outdoor programming. From feature films to and world premiers to an incredible line up of short film, they offer an A+ list of films on rooftops, and in public spaces around the city. In 2016 OrangeYouGlad worked Rooftop films to create the 2015 Annual Report.

Our dear friends at Hyperballad Music asked OrangeYouGlad to help them with a brand refresh and site update. (Fresh being the imperative word.) We wanted to help them capture the flow of music, creativity, performance, and community that takes part within their professional recording studio (and often event space.)
